A Practice Formed in the Workshop

Established in Melaka in 1994, KLN Timbercraft was formed as a manufacturing practice—not a design studio or retail brand. From the outset, our work has been grounded in solid wood construction, disciplined material handling, and methods developed through long-term workshop experience.

KLN grew from the alignment of several independent craft practices specialising in furniture construction, traditional carving, and joinery. These methods were consolidated into a single factory workflow with a clear purpose: to produce timberwork that can be built consistently, repaired when necessary, and remain structurally stable in Malaysia’s climate. 

KLN represents the lineage of three craft practices whose knowledge continues through our work today. 
Together, they form a shared foundation of skills, methods, and workshop discipline, refined over time and applied to contemporary sacred spaces.
